Sweet Stamp Shop - Use What You Have Challenge #16

Hi everyone!

What started out as summer is rapidly turning into FALL.  Sheesh.  Don't know how THAT happened!

Lots of stuff going on in the studio (like school pictures, Disney scrapbooks, Christmas cards).  Just a little bit of everything.

One thing that's been floating around in my mind for a LONG LONG time is participating in a challenge.  How fun!  A chance to make a random creation (following some guidelines of course) and get those creative juices going.

One challenge I love to "lurk" around is Sweet Stamp Shop's "Use What You Have Challenge".

Time to blow the dust off some tidbits that have been in "storage" in my studio (ahem) and use 'em!

A new challenge is posted every week, and the goal is to use something from your stash.
I decided to jump in this week for Challenge #16 - you can see the challenge HERE.

This is my First Ever Challenge or submission or anything, so here goes!

I have these brads...um, eyelets....well I'm not really sure what they are called:

I bought them a long time ago because I had just never seen them before and they just looked so COOL.

Once they were home, I couldn't think of a single thing I could use them for.  Not one.
So in the drawer they went.  And stayed.

I decided to use them for this challenge because they are almost the strangest bling I own.
Also had lots of leftover die cuts from a previous project.

So here's what I started with:

So here's what I came up with...ta-da!

I had a lot of fun making this card....I think it's very unique and the purple/green really makes it pop.
Plus I had a chance to break out my Copic airbrush system and tint the die-cuts just the shade I needed.

Here's a list of what I used:

Stamps:  Sweet Stamp Shop (Simple Sentiments); Stampin' Up (Baby Bundle)
Ink: Memento by Tsukineko (Tuxedo Black); Tombow (623 purple, 173 green)
Dies: Provocraft
Papers: Bazzil, Provocraft
Stickles by Ranger (Fruit Punch)
various Copic markers + airbrush system

Whew that was fun!  Hope you all have a great evening and happy crafting!

Studio /Thank You's

Thanks so much for checking in!  I'm so glad you stopped by to see what's happening...

Lots of stuff going on...always so busy but this blog is always percolating in the back of my little brain.  Can't help it!  Lol...

Little girl has just finished K4 (preschool) for the summer, so were knee-deep into our summer routine.  I honestly can't fathom where the time goes, and the days just fly by.

I was so very fortunate to have my craft studio featured on Craftaholics Anonymous's website (www.craftaholicsanonymous.net)- how exciting!  So much wonderful feedback, and thanks to all who contributed comments and helpful advice.  If you didn't have a chance to check it out, take a look here and be sure to check out Craftaholics Anonymous for some wonderful inspiration and all kinds of fabulous projects!

Had a chance to make some neat thank-you cards for my mom for Mother's Day - check 'em out!

Floral stamps are by Hero Arts and sentiments are by Sweet Stamp Shop, Fiskars and Stampin' Up.  Honestly, the floral stamps are one of the first stamps I ever purchased, but I haven't used them hardly at all!  I think they turned out pretty neat.

I don't know about you all, but I'm starting to think about Christmas...more on that soon!

Well, feel free to leave me a comment and let me know what you're working on!

Happy crafting and have a great day!

Lots of new stuff to tell...

So busy with the end of the school year approaching.  But I still had time to do something incredible - learn about Copic!  I was fortunate to be able to attend Copic's Standard and Intermediate Certification classes.  Amazing.  So many techniques and tidbits, and I feel like I'm looking at my markers in a whole new way.  Pics to come.
And something different and fun at the end of this week. More to come about that on Friday!
See you soon!

Well that was a little vacation, right?

Gosh, sure didn't mean to be away THAT long!

I've sure been busy getting used to being a domestic diva this year.  But having lots of fun doing it.
Done lots of projects over the past year, and I'll post some of them here very very soon.

Been through lots of paper.
Lots of adhesive.
Lots of patterns/bling/ribbon.
Can't wait to show you!

I'll also be back posting!  Lots!

Please leave me a comment and let me know if there's anything you'd like to see or talk about.
I'd love to hear your topic suggestions or anything you'd like to talk about (crafty related or not).

Nitey nite!
